Division III — the largest division in the NCAA — has no national eligibility floor and no Eligibility Center certification for incoming freshmen. The bar is each school's own admissions standard, which at many D3s is higher than any NCAA line.

So my GPA doesn't matter for D3?
It matters more, differently: admissions decides. A 3.5 opens academic-money conversations at selective D3s that a 2.5 never will — and coaches can only advocate for athletes admissions will accept.
Can D3 schools give athletic scholarships?
No — that's the defining D3 rule. But merit and need-based aid often add up to comparable packages, and coaches know how to route recruits toward them.
