"The school counselor is tracking this."
Counselors track graduation requirements, which are not the same list as NCAA core courses and often do not overlap the way families assume. A student can be perfectly on track to graduate and short of eligible at the same time. Both lists have to be watched, and only one of them is somebody's job.
